Here at Kokoda, everything we do as a property developer revolves around our mission to deliver award-winning design, superior quality and a proud heritage in some of Australia’s most desired locations.
In 2019, this commitment saw us launch our most significant project to date in one of Melbourne’s most sought-after locations: Malvern.
Founder and managing director of Kokoda, Mark Stevens, always had a vision for this development to not only serve the entire Malvern community, but strengthen it through shared community infrastructure, added amenity and an aesthetic rejuvenation to lift the entire southern end of Glenferrie Road, hence the development’s name – Malvern Collective.
Plans include a wellness centre, cinema and a full renovation of much-loved local watering hole, the Angel Tavern. In Mark’s words: “The name Malvern Collective is deliberate; it’s a direct reflection of what we are seeking to create – a collective.
“This development will strengthen and grow the community, creating a multitude of communal spaces where the people of Malvern can come together to enjoy all that this exceptional suburb has to offer.”
To celebrate a successful year and the exciting things to come on the corner of Glenferrie and Dandenong Road, on Saturday 23 November, Kokoda will transform the 4,714sqm site into a European festival, with food and entertainment on offer for the whole family. The best part? It’s all FREE!
“We have felt so welcomed by the wonderful Malvern community and wanted to throw a party to celebrate the local retailers and residents who make this area so special”, said Kokoda Property’s founder and director, Mark Stevens.
Starting at 12 midday, eventgoers will be able to enjoy Spanish paella, French crepes, Italian gelato, pastries, international cheeses and much more, all to be washed down by refreshing Aperol Spritzers, fine imported wines and coffee. Milton Wines and Café Claremont will be among local retailers helping bring the unique event to life.
Places for the European Laneway Festival are strictly limited and can be secured through EventBrite or by clicking here.
“Kokoda is thrilled to be delivering a project that has community at its core, and something that will bolster this already sensational suburb”, said Mark.
Located right at Station Place Malvern, we encourage Festival attendees to make use of public transport arriving directly to the event at Malvern Station. The Frankston Line departing from Southern Cross Station will have you at the festival in just 15 minutes. Alternatively, head to www.ptv.vic.gov.au to plan your journey.
